These photos were taken in October of 2013 when my wife Judy and I were on a guided tour of Peru and its historic archeological sites. Most breathtaking of them was Machu Picchu (pronounced with both 'c's), the so-called "Lost City of the Incas" built in the 15th century and located 50 miles northwest of Cusco in Peru. Perched 7,970 feet above the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River, this majestic city with its huge polished stone structures stands as one of the great mysteries of the ancient world. Included are some rare views of the city and of the Andes mountains.
